The Forums & Community Hub
How do I start a new thread (topic) in the Forum?
Our forums have been carefully categorised with each listing relevant discussion topics.
So your first step is to find which forum is relevant to the question you want to ask or information you want to share. For example, if your child is displaying behaviours of bullying, threats or intimidation, then the Behaviours: Aggression to People and Animals forum is where you want to go.
Once within that forum, scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says: Create New Topic in “Behaviours: Aggression to People and Animals” and that is where you start your new topic.
Write your topic title (can be in the form of a question, statement, whatever suits) and then your topic content after that.
If there are certain tags you want to include that might help other people looking for the same content, feel free to add some.
How will I know when someone has replied to my topic?
When creating a topic, you can check the "Notify me of follow-up replies via email" to be notified that way.
Or, you can check your notifications (icon in website header) or within your profile page.
What should I do if I get into an disagreement?
How do I post/share in the Community Hub?
When you visit the community hub page, you will see a message at the top that says "What's new, YOUR NAME?" - there you can post an update, ask a question, much like you would on the wall of a Facebook group or your personal profile. Similarly, other members can comment on your post.
How do I message another member?
Click on their name which will take you to their profile page.
From within their profile header you can either send them a public or private message by clicking the relevant icon.
Public Messages: Essentially this just "tags" someone in a public post. These appear on the Community Hub Activity Wall for everyone to see.
Private Messages: Only you and whoever you message will see these from within your profile page.
What should I do if I see inappropriate behaviour or content that violates CDS guidelines?
While our moderators make every effort to oversee the forums, it’s not always feasible for them to catch every instance of inappropriate behaviour or content. We rely on our community members to help maintain our standards. If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it to the moderators immediately by heading to our contact page and selecting “Report a rule violation” from the dropdown menu. Do not engage in public disputes or retaliatory actions. Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove content that violates the guidelines, as well as to warn or ban members who repeatedly disregard them.
